Natty and I are in the process of editing some of the video that we shot while recording our new album. We are super excited to finally be showing off some new jams that we have written for you! have been playing at shows, working out release plans and getting these songs perfect for your listening pleasure. We are super proud of these songs and hope that you will find yourself singing along. However, before we release the songs, we will be putting some video clips up of all our Tom-foolery and whatnot. We’ve been planning some big things for the next yer that we are stoked to share with you! We’ll have some new tour dates, so check back soon and see if we are stopping by our town! “From the first track, this three piece band falls into pulsing tunes that feel familiar but never imitated. Riley (guitar) and Drew Hamnett’s (bass) harsh-but-clean vocals perfectly contrast the meticulous cacophony in the background. Unlike most bands,where there is a sense of insanity going on in the background, it’s never overdone and it is this balance that really lets the vocals shine. Not to say instrumental is lacking.;actually, it complements rather that competes with the overall sound. Drummer Natty Coleman adds to the already high-energy instrumental but never overplays. The most surprising element with this release is that this group really seems to have carved out their own sound. The tracks are enough alike to give the group a definitive feel, but varied enough to keep from giving off a “didn’t I just hear this?” vibe, something seriously lacking in thier genre on a national level. “This Island Earth is one of the most earnest albums I’ve gotten the chance to listen to this year so far. Good hooks and subliminal lyrics will keep you listening longer than you’d expect, not to mention dancing on your couch with a hairbrush in your hand. Conscience: Exit Stage Left is just the song for that. Listen to it on repeat, learn the lyrics, and listen to it some more. The album, what with Riley Hamnett’s imperfect-but-listenable vocals and madness of the songs themselves will leave listeners wondering how the three-piece ensemble that is The Trademark works so well. Oh, the intrigue. This is one CD that has no trouble with energy, but Letter of Resignation is a perfect counter-balance from the vigor that drummer Natty Coleman and bassist Drew Hamnett undoubtedly bring in other songs.
